The final stop of the USAC Pro Road Tour (PRT), the Bucks County Classic draws some of the greatest talents from the Americas together for one of the hardest criteriums in the U.S. Clayton broke away with a key selection of 4 riders, to get just beat at the line by a bike throw.

Team Skyline’s Last Race Weekend of 2021
The Bucks County Classic racing weekend marks the final PRT event of the year for Team Skyline. The team gathered together on Friday, September 10th, to prepare for two days of crit racing- racing the Michael Ross Memorial PA State Championships on Saturday, using it to dial in tactics and the legs before the Bucks County Classic on Sunday.

The team cleaned their Bassos and ran through their Campagnolo groupsets, before pinning up on a clear Saturday Morning to race the Michael Ross. Clayton Travis, Trevor August, Wolfgang Brandl, Justin McQuerry, Parker Kyzer, Jake Castor, Andrew Scott, and Ryan DeWald made up the roster on Saturday.
The attacks came, and the team worked together shutting down breakaways and controlling the field, leading Wolfgang Brandl out for a 2nd place finish. With the initial race jitters out of the way, the team set their sights on the Bucks County Classic.

Team Skyline Taking 3rd at Bucks County Classic
The Bucks County Classic is one of the hardest races in the PRT. The two-hour criterium has considerable elevation over a technical course, and all eyes were on the field as every team was antsy to make the break. Parker Kyzer rode strong for the first half of the race, countering moves, and working hard to position Clayton for the attack.

With the winning move established after fatigue settled into the field, Clayton was up the road with a key selection of 4 riders. Clayton rode hard, attacked corners, and got pipped at the line by a late sprint. Just moments later, Wolfgang Brandl (GER), won the field sprint for 5th place. The 3rd and 5th place finishes in the last stop of the PRT represents a season of hard work, determination, and dialed tactics that resulted in fantastic results for Team Skyline.

The team is settling into the end of the season mode, where some riders are taking a much needed respite before regrouping for the 2022 season.
